Mini Newspaper Programs |

I thought I would put together another feature post of a few of the recent Newspaper Programs I have been working on. As you can see from the samples below these newspaper programs fit many different styles and wedding themes and locations!

If you choose to order a Mini newspaper Wedding Program for your big day it will be completely custom and will show off your story, personalities, wedding theme and so much more!

Anelise & Michael were having an outdoor evening wedding in the Bride’s backyard in Bluemont, Virginia. – located in the country, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The theme was vintage/rustic/country fair. The ceremony was going to be taking place in front of a tree, with the guests seated on natural oak benches and the ceremony was going to be decorated with lanterns, string lights, candles, and paper chains made out of old books. The couple has a love for literature and so we added a 'buy on get one half off' coupon for a used book store. The couple also has a love for music so we added an advertisement for the groom's band: 'Baby vs. Rhino'. We also added vintage pictures of a phonograph, books and a typewriter around their crossword puzzle to add to the theme of their wedding.

Kara & Jared's newspaper was very unique as they wanted to use their paper as their wedding INVITATION instead of a program. It worked out GREAT! They were able to include all of the details of their day such as the date, locations, times, special features of the day, their registry information, rsvp info and hotel/accommodation info for guests. I would create a newspaper invitation for another couple in a heartbeat as I think it would be SUCH a fun way of getting all your wedding information to your guests.

Brooke & Noah's Top Story really showed off the amazing journey of how they came together to their big day. They also featured a fun 'Mad Lib' section on the back of the program to entertain guests with a funny story of 'Well Wishes' for the couple and they also asked for an 'I Spy Camera Checklist' that would get their guests taking some great photos of their wedding day that they would then text or email to the couple!

Conor & Larissa's wedding was all about location, location, location! They LOVE Asbury Park and so they chose the Berkeley Oceanfront Hotel in Asbury Park, NJ as the venue for their wedding. They included 'fun facts' section about the hotel and also included a 'Best of Asbury Park' section that listed some of their favorites places to go and things to do so in Asbury Park so that their guests could explore some of their favorite places while in town!

Michael & Krystle's Newspaper Program feature many cute sections. My favorite section was the feature article on the bride's 92 year old grandmother who sewed the bride's veil. They also included a 'Death of a Bachelor' section on the groom as well as a 'Pet Contest Winner' section for their pets. They also did a 'feature' section on their cake decorator to highlight this person who helped make their day special. This program truly showed off the couple's personalities and was also a special tribute to those that contributed to their day.

Tiffany and Doug's wedding was BALTIMORE theme all the way! They are a sport loving couple, so of course we included a funny sports advertisement for their favorite team against the 'Plain Spicy Chicken VIII' team! They also included an 'ask the experts' section where they marriage advice quotes from their friends and family to place in the article. They used lyrics from a favorite song in their quote section which really added to the unique flare of their program.

Brenda and Paul's wedding was being held at the stunning Museum of Art on the ocean front in Long Beach, California. They featured their lovely engagement photos throughout their program and included a unique 'World Travel' section all about where they were going on their honeymoon, to Peru, and some amazing facts about that country to share with their guests! They were also able to include the Spanish translation of their 'thank you message' for all of the Spanish speaking guests at their wedding.

Another Happy Bride | Mini Newspaper Wedding Program REVIEW

- What was it like ordering / working with me?
Simple; just what I was looking for. It is so hard to find the perfect wedding program and once you do, you just hope that the person you are working with makes the process SIMPLE! Kendel has exceeded my expectations!  The program is perfect and she won’t quit working with you until it is how you want it! Life is stressful enough, Kendel makes it a smooth process.

- What is your wedding’s theme / location / venue, and how did the program help to create that theme or fit into the surroundings?
My wedding theme is Vintage Rustic Country…. It is set in an old renovated theatre. The newspaper program set the old fashion theme (vintage) and had a fun symbolism because my family ran a newspaper for years back in the day. Most importantly, I WANT FUN!  This program is 200% FUN!

- What was your favorite section / most unique thing you were able to include in your program?
Everything about it. Most programs are typical, like an outline of who is doing what and the order in detail of the ceremony; I didn’t want that. This program has an ‘I spy’, introducing my wedding party and how we know them. A write up about how we met and all about my bouquet. Also a crossword puzzle. I don’t like waiting for weddings…. So, this program gives you something to do while you wait and it is FUN!!!!!!!!!!!!

-  What do you think your guests will say / think about your programs?
They will think they are unique, clever, and unexpected. You never know what you are getting with this couple, and that is exactly what I want them to expect walking into the Theatre! If they say they are totally ‘Amy and AJ’…. Then, we have done it right!
Thanks for the AMAZING review Amy! I hope your guests do say that your program “is totally Amy and AJ”!! - Happy Wedding Day!

Here is what the inside pages of Amy's program looks like!

She did an awesome section all about her bridal party and included an article about her brooch bouquet as well as a fun "I-Spy-With-My-Little-Camera" section that will ensure she gets some great photos from her wedding guests!

Newspaper Program - Client Review |

I recently created a Mini newspaper Wedding Program for Katherina and asked her a few questions about her experience working with me on this project for her Big Day. Here is what she had to say:
* What was it like ordering / working with KO TWO Designs?  Very professional, Kendel was very quick to respond to all emails and was really an overall pleasure to work with as a Wedding Vendor.  She really made me feel like I wasn't one of many brides that she was trying to get a quick and finished product to. She made it seem like she really took the time to answer every email and make sure her customer was satisfied.

* What is your wedding's theme / location / venue, and how does the Mini Newspaper Wedding Program help to create the overall theme and/or fit into the surroundings?  We are having an "Old Hollywood Glamor" theme  - I think the newspaper programs will be a great addition to add to this vintage and classic look.  We are very excited for our guests to pick them up and read them!!

* What was your favorite section / most unique thing you were able to include in your program?  There are a few selections that you offer that really caught my eye, very creative and very different.  That is so important especially when you are a couple trying to stand out and keep your guests entertained by staying different from every other wedding they have attended.  My favorite section was probably the 'Top Story' but the little Advertisements, Quotes and our pictures really help to make it an overall special program.

THANKS so much for the feedback Katherina! I hope your guests LOVE your Mini Newspaper Wedding Programs as much as  you do!

Here is what the front and back page of her "Old Hollywood" style paper looked like:

Celebrating 50 Sales | The Mini Newspaper Program

Today I sold my 50th Mini Newspaper Wedding Program since I started offering them in my Etsy shop last summer.

To celebrate I thought I would do a blog post featuring a few of the recent programs I have created for couples from all over. As you can see each one is as unique as the couple themselves, fitting into various wedding themes and settings.

(*Be sure to click on each paper to view it larger)

Colette & Tom | This UK couple got married on the shores of Loch Goil in Lochgoilhead Scotland. They are avid kayak-ers who love to explore any lake, stream, river or bay they can! They included a fun 'Ask the Experts' section in their paper that featured marriage advice quotes from their friends and family as well as an 'Epithelium (A lyric ode in honor of a bride and bridegroom) for Two Canoeists' written by the mother of the groom.

Jessica & Pierre | This couple got married at 'Olcottage' in Massachusetts which is a historic home on the ocean in an area of Cape Cod where the bride grew up vacationing each summer. They were able to share these special memories and details about the significance of their wedding location with their guests through their newspaper program and also did a 'food and style' section and were also able to include french and English translations of their ceremony readings for their non-biligual guests to be abel to follow along with what was being read.

Lauren & Mike| This Barrie Ontario couple was having an Alice in Wonderland theme wedding! Their 'Wonderland Times' paper added to their theme by featuring a 'Mad Hatter Tea Room' advertisement, whimsical font, an Alice Through The Looking Glass quote and of course the 'Top Story' sharing the Fairy Tale of how the couple met, got engaged and planned their furture together.

Wesley & Kara| This sunny couple had a destination wedding and got married on 'The Casey Key' in Florida, which is where they got engaged! In their 'Top Story' they shared the details about how they met and the details about the proposal on the very beach they were getting married on. They also added a fun 'Guess that Love Song' section to entertain their guests.
Caroline and Paul | This adventure seeking couple from Nenagh Ireland was having an intimate ceremony and celebration in their backyard. They included a section in their paper in honor of the "Best Man", Noah, the bride's son! They wanted to create a coupon for 'Busters Bootcamp' as the groom (a.k.a Buster) is a personal trainer. They also included a fun 'Death of a Bachelor' section to let all the ladies know the groom was now off the market.

I have recently had a request to create a newspaper program for a sweet 16 birthday party that would feature the birthday girl, her friends, the party's events and menu as well as the sponsors of the event. So this could open up a whole new area for my papers and I even think they would be great for Bar and Bat Mitzvahs as well as anniversary parties and corporate events. So feel free to contact me about these possibilities as well.

Mini Newspaper Program | Features

I thought I would do a post to highlight a few Newspaper Programs that I have recently created for couples so that I could share some of their unique ideas for the various sections in their programs and to show prospective couples just how unique they can make their own papers and that they can be made to fit in with any wedding theme.

*Be sure to click on each image to open them in a larger screen.

Chris and Tonya |
This super fun couple was getting married in the Bride's hometown: Tennessee! They had a whole weekend of events planned for their guests and asked if I couple create a 'coupon' of sorts that would inform their guests that they would have free admission to BB Kings for the weekend of the wedding. I created the couple to make it look like a 'cut-out' in the newspaper and also did a section with all of the information needed for a River Boat Cruise on the Memphis River that they had also planned for their guests. All I can say is I wish I was a guest for their wedding day!

They also included a fun 'Marriage Advice Column' that features various words of wisdom from their friends and family. It creates a super funny, personal and entertaining section in the newspaper.

Kayla and Tyler |
This couple has two loves... The Green Bay Packers and their Cats... Oh Yeah and each other of course! These passions show through their newspaper program with a featured 'Pet' section as well as a sports advertisement that I created for the Green Bay Packers vs. the Colts in the Super Bowl (Let's just say they were pretty confident that their beloved team would make it to the Super Bowl and wanted their guests to know it - Go Green Bay!). Sections like these are always a great way to show off your personality, hobbies, likes and interest and give your paper a personalized flare.

Nat and Crystal |

This soccer loving couple got married at the Wells Fargo Center in Salt Lake City. They did a unique 'Special Thanks' section to the 'Sponsors' of their wedding. This section included some funny sponsors such as 'Budweiser' and also included some more serious recognition including the charity 'Teammates for Kids' which is a charity that the couple is involved with and that they donated to in honor of their wedding guests.

I have also had couples create a 'Vendor List' section in their newspaper listing all of the people that made their day happen (Ex. Dress by..., Hair By..., Photography By..., Decorations by.. etc.) A great way to recognize your vendors of choice and to inform guests of your sources if they are planning a wedding/event themselves.

Melissa and Kevin|
Melissa and Kevin came up with an entertaining title for their newspaper program: "The Ball and Chain Gazette". Their personality continued to shine throughout their program including a detailed proposal story to share with guests, lyrics to a favorite Bob Dylan song that was included in their ceremony AND a cute section for their beloved cats. They were also able to feature their beautiful vintage style engagement photos throughout the paper which were sure to add to the theme and decor of their wedding day.

Elias and Amelia |
This Canadian couple was heating things up with a destination wedding in Miami! Being a destination wedding they wanted to include a 'Fun Facts' section that would give guests some noteworthy info about Miami. They couple also wanted to include a business advertisement section for their Toronto based business 'Hula Girl Espresso Boutique' to highlight their passion for what they do in their program. This couple also included several childhood photos which added a whimsical and nostalgic feature to their paper.

Amber and William |
Amber and William were engaged while on a hot air balloon ride and so they decided to share their engagement story in their newspaper program along with a photo of their balloon before it took off! They were also able to include details about their reception such as their fun photo booth and Karaoke event that they had planned for guests, by having these details in the program they were able to ensure that their guests wouldn't miss out on all of the fun activities they had planned for the celebration!

I have also had a few couples who include the address of the reception venue or even directions to the venue right in the newspaper, making it easy for guests (who may have forgotten their invitation back home) to find where the party's at!

*As you can see, from the examples above, Mini Newspaper Programs are completely customizable to fit any wedding theme and to highlight your hobbies, interests, passions, careers as well as your wedding theme and location and they are also a great way to give guests important information that they will need to make your wedding day/weekend run as smoothly as possible.

Collage of Our Engagement Photos:
I finally put together a collage of our own engagement photos. I am always making them for other couples but never us. I am thinking about getting it custom framed (when frame go half price at Michales) and then doing the same square format of our wedding photos. They will be nice custom pieces for on the wall at home and I like that you can show multiple photos at once (instead of choosing just one!)
